Starhotels Ritz inaugurates the Ritz Art Gallery, a new space dedicated to contemporary art in Milan’s Porta Venezia district. Curated by Matteo Chincarini, who has long been active in the field of curating and organizing cultural events, the project aims to promote emerging artists and transform the hotel into a meeting point for hospitality, culture, and the local community.
“We deeply believe in the role a hotel can play in the cultural life of a city.
The Ritz Art Gallery is not a decorative project: it is an open invitation to artists, Milanese residents, and our guests to pause, look, and recognize themselves in the work of others.”
Giovanni Testa, General Manager of the hotel
IDENTITIES by Avvassena
First exhibition on the program, from May 21 to August 2026 | Open to the public
Opening the exhibition cycle is artist Avvassena with the series IDENTITIES, a reflection on the meaning of identity today, on display until the end of August 2026.
The series originates from fingerprints collected randomly in public spaces: unique marks representing a person’s identity which, printed on mirrored surfaces, become instruments of connection rather than merely identifying signs. The works reflect the image of those who approach them, creating a dialogue between someone else’s fingerprint and the visitor’s presence. A composition of fragmented and reassembled elements forms a kind of gallery wall, in which each piece is unique yet part of a larger whole.
