Florence’s Fashion Museums

Fashion and Costume Museum. Housed in Palazzo Pitti, it is the only museum in Italy devoted to the history of fashion. Showing untilOctober 23, the Karl Lagerfeld. Visions of Fashion exhibition.
Ferragamo Museum. Housed in Palazzo Spini Feroni, on via De’ Tornabuoni. In addition to the collection of uniquely designed shoes, the models specially made for the greatest Hollywood stars: Marilyn Monroe, Greta Garbo, Audrey Hepburn. The Across Art and Fashion exhibition will be showing until April 7, 2017.
Gucci Museum. Housed in Palazzo della Mercanzia giving onto Piazza della Signoria, this three-floor museum offers an insight into the history of the historic Florentine fashion house which follows the Forever Now philosophy. Don’t miss the two rooms devoted to Tom Ford.
Capucci Museum. Housed in the magnificent Villa Bardini, a gem of the Oltrarno area. The permanent collection features a selection of “sculpture dresses” that Roberto Capucci designed for the 1995 Venice Art Biennale. The Giochi di Ruolo tra Arte e Moda exhibition will be showing until April 7, 2017.
