You are in Parma and you have only 24 hours to spend in this city?

Let Starhotels Du Parc guide you on a tour of artistic beauties and culinary delights.

Start your day with a tour of the Imbriani street market, filled with mouth-watering fruit, vegetables and street food.

At lunchtime, we recommend the two hotel restaurants- Canova by Eataly or Aiglon by Eataly- or F.I.S.H. (Via Maestri, 15), ideal for raw fish lovers. The fish hamburger is one of the must-tries too.

In the afternoon, spend some time visiting the city’s artistic sights, including the Benedictine Monastery of St. Paul, the Duomo’s dome with frescoes by Correggio, Palazzo della Pilotta and the National Gallery.

Experience some alternative shopping at the vintage clothing shops on Via Sauro: Vecchia America, which offers European haute couture outfits, from Valentino to Chanel; Invento, a sort of wonderland filled with dummies and old-fashioned furniture; and Credula Postero, for antiques, books and curios.

When aperitivo time comes around, stop at TCafè (Vicolo al Battistero). Try the violet-flavoured liqueur with prosecco wine and sparkling water paired with a dish of local cold cuts.

At dinnertime, head to Borgo20, a restaurant offering highly creative cuisine based on a mix of savoury, sweet and spicy flavours. The Lambrusco wine and sour black cherry sorbet is excellent.

The Regio Theatre of Parma, the hometown of Giuseppe Verdi, is one of the city’s best places for after-dinner entertainment. Every year, the theatre hosts the Verdi Festival, as a tribute to the great composer. The theatre offers also a very interesting jazz, experimental ballet and opera music program.

The go-to-place after the theatre is Tabarro, located on Via Farini, an informal and welcoming wine bar where you can enjoy Franciacorta wine, Sicilian reds and the Tuscan Pollera Nera wine. Vecchie Maniere Birreria Parmigiana is the best place in Parma for a good Italian craft beer.
