How to request the application of the Best Rate Guaranteed.
Require the application of the Best Rate Guaranteed is simple, but you must carefully read the conditions below and make sure that the purchased rate is not among those found within our terms of warranty.
Conditions of application of our Best Rate Guaranteed:
The customer, on a website different from www.starhotels.com , who has bought a rate with the same fare conditions present on www.starhotels.com, and who requests the Best Rate Guaranteed must meet the following requirements:
1) rate must have the same sales conditions; terms regarding reservation modification, cancellation of payment, prepayment conditions and other terms stated within the rules pertaining to the purchase.
2) rate must have the same stay dates and length of stay, and confirmed for the same number of guests for the same Starhotels property.
3) If the rate refers to more than one night, our Best Rate Guaranteed will be applied on the total amount corresponding to the entire stay and will not be applied to the rates pertaining to single stay dates.
4) The lower rate offered, visible in the same currency, must be accessible to the public via Internet and which can be verified by Starhotels. The comparison with the lower rate will be calculated net of taxes of city / country of reference or other fees associated the room rate.
The Best Rate Guaranteed does not apply if the lower rate:
1) appears in a web page in which errors are present during the reservation process. Starhotels is not liable for costs or expenses that may be applied by the cancellation of reservations or errors in the publication of rates in sites other than www.starhotels.com.
2) is not available online (or is sold off-line).
3) is tied to a corporate agreement and/or negotiated with Starhotels, or has the condition "not refundable" and / or if the cancellation deadline has already expired, and if the rate is inc luded in a promotional package. Furthermore, the Best Rate Guaranteed is not applicable for groups, companies or negotiated rates as such.
4) is found on sites that confirm payment with voucher.
5) has been modified due to differences in currency exchange. The exchange rate must be the same as the one used at the time of booking on www.starhotels.com
6) was purchased on online sites that use the system known as " opaque selling ", ie: the customer is notified of the hotel name and its room availability once the payment is processed and not before.
If a customer, who has purchased a rate on www.starhotels.com , finds a lower rate online (excluding VAT or other taxes), within 24 hours from the purchase and with the same terms and conditions, he/she must send an e-mail, including his/her reservation number to firstname.lastname@example.org requesting the Best Rate Guaranteed. Please note that this must be sent within 5 working days (Mon-Fri) prior to the check-in date.
The e-mail must contain:
Reservation number confirmed on www.starhotels.com
Name and Surname of the guest
Exact address (link) of the website where lower rate was found
Total Rate found on www.starhotels.com
Total Rate found on another website
Screen shot image of the site where the lower rate was found
Additional information and comments
It is recommended to send the e-mail with the attached screen shots (no jpeg or gif images but screen shots that can be created by pressing the specific key/s on the PC keyboard) showing the online page with the lower rate. Starhotels will reply within 5 working days.
Starhotels will verify the request for the Best Rate Guaranteed and will send a confirmation of the new reservation via e-mail. The latter will include the new rate (net of taxes and 10% off) and will proceed in cancelling the original reservation previously confirmed at a higher rate.
If Starhotels considers the request unacceptable, an email will be sent with the relative explanation.
Starhotels reserves the right to modify and/or cancel the Terms and Conditions that govern this event.
