Phoenix

For a beautiful celebration of the important and joyful achievement of 40 years in business, Starhotels entrusted designer Sara Ricciardi and three Italian master craftsmen of excellence with the creation of a truly special object: a fragrance diffuser Phoenix.

This artwork encapsulates the very spirit of La Grande Bellezza, the project that Starhotels patronises to support Italian creators of beautiful, well made things.

A spectacular item halfway between a diffuser and a sculpture, which wonderfully expresses the dialogue between design and fine craftsmanship.

The talented designer’s unbounded imagination and creativity, always original and highly personal, gave rise to an exquisite object, rich in symbolism and evocative meanings: Phoenix, a mysterious bird, partly a peacock, partly an eagle and partly a golden pheasant which, according to legend, is reborn every 500 years.

The phoenix imagined by Sara Ricciardi, Art Director of La Grande Bellezza, is embodied in an eloquent and intriguing piece, thanks to the savoir faire of three exceptional Italian ateliers.

The Masters of beauty done well

Three ateliers of high-level Italian artisans were chosen for Phoenix: Silver Tre (Milan), Fornace Mian (Murano) and Diletta Tonatto (Turin), symbols of Italian excellence worldwide.

SILVER TRE

The acclaimed Milanese atelier reinterprets everyday objects with fl air and creative freedom. With Silver Tre we created the satinised brass halo that evokes the sun, originator of rebirth.

FORNACE MIAN

The historic glass foundry perpetuates the great Murano art of glassmaking. At the furnace we revived an ancient Phoenician technique to turn the blown glass into the plumage of the sacred bird, in all its amber-coloured evanescence.

DILETTA TONATTO

Diletta Tonatto, The Turin maison symbolises the excellence of Italian perfumery worldwide, in a perfect combination of tradition and avantgarde. The olfactory journey opens with the invigorating notes of Italian citrus: bergamot and orange, paired with pepper and thyme. And then a generous floral accord, composed of jasmine, rose, magnolia and orange blossom. Closing notes of sweet almond blend with incense and wood for an intense and spiritual mood.

The Fragrance

The olfactory journey opens with the invigorating notes of Italian citrus: bergamot and orange, paired with pepper and thyme. But it is in the heart that the fragrance displays its identity and its powerful message: a blossoming, prophesying fruit, the symbol of fertility.

The generous fl oral accord is composed of jasmine, rose, magnolia and orange blossom. These emerge in a crescendo, inviting us to bloom again. Closing notes of sweet almond blend with incense and wood for an intense and spiritual mood. The fragrance of an intimate Garden of Eden.
