History
The first of a chain of hotels built in 1980, its modern architecture is perfectly harmonious with the nearby antique pietra forte tower designed by Michelangelo. It has undergone major renovation.

Rooms & Suites
In all there are 119 rooms and suites in our 4 star hotel in Florence. The Deluxe and Junior Suite are in the fresh contemporary style while the rest are warmly furnished in wood and decorated in vibrant colours: fitted carpets, space, a charming view of the treetops in the nearby Parco delle Cascine. All rooms have a Starbed with soft goose down.

Bar & Restaurant
The Assaggi restaurant has been artfully refurbished. Around the tables, comfortable sofas and armchairs create an intimate setting in a rarefied all white atmosphere enhanced by antique furniture and objets d'art oozing with charm and history. Buffets are served on great slabs of white Carrara marble, like in kitchens of old. A large window overlooks a green area, a graceful homage to the renowned Tuscan Garden style. The restaurant serves excellent traditional and international dishes and can seat up to 220 people.

From railway station
- From Santa Maria Novella station, the Starhotels Michelangelo can use the new tram service and get off at the first stop "Porta al Prato", located 50 meters away.
From the highway
- From A1 Milano/Rome, Milan direction, exit at Firenze Scandicci, direction Rome,  exit at Firenze Certosa and take the A11 Florence/Pisa, highway (6 km). Exit at Firenze Nord, then go towards Portaal Prato.
From the airport
- Amerigo Vespucci Airport (6 km), take a bus stop in Via Alamanni.
