PONTORMO and ROSSO. Diverging paths of mannerism
An exhibition focusing on the work of Pontormo and Rosso Fiorentino, the most anti-conformist and open-minded artists among the exponents of a new way of understanding art in that period of the 16th century, an approach Giorgio Vasari called the "modern manner". This unique event will be the first bringing together of masterpieces by the two artists (many of which restored for the occasion) from Italy and abroad (http://www.palazzostrozzi.org/Sezione.jsp?idSezione=1770).
FROM 14 MARCH TO 20 JULY 2014
"Questioni di famiglia. Vivere e rappresentare la famiglia oggi" is an exhibition featuring the works of 11 international artists (Guy Ben-Ner, Sophie Calle, Jim Campbell, John Clang, Nan Goldin, Courtney Kessel, Ottonella Mocellin and Nicola Pellegrini, Trish Morrissey, Hans Op de Beeck, Chrischa Oswald and Thomas Struth) that enable visitors to explore images, dynamics and structures that define the concept of family in the contemporary world.

"PICASSO AND SPANISH MODERNISM". This exhibition of masterpieces from Madrid's Reina Sofia National Museum presents Picasso - in the public mind the prime figure in western modern art - as an influence on Spanish art. Themes include: art reflecting on art, the encounter with "pure art", the emergence of the monster with a human face, the artist's commitment during the "historic tragedy" and the metaphor of erotic desire as a privileged source of creation and world vision. The exhibition also presents the poetics of artists such as Juan Gris, Miró, Dalí, Maria Blanchard and Julio González.
